Elizabeth Izora Matheny

Elizabeth Izora Matheny, class of 1904, was from normal. She took an A.B. from the University of Chicago in 1906 and subsequently took courses at Columbia University in the summer of 1915 and at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Chicago. She taught at Delavan(1904-1906) and Dixon (1906-1908) in Illinois and La Porte (1908-1916) in Indiana. She entered the service in August 1918 and served as a YMCA canteen worker in France until her discharge in August 1919. After the war she taught in Rushville (1916-1917) and South Bend (1917-1918) After the war she returned to teaching in South Bend and was still there in 1927. She might have died 1-26-1927 in Peoria.
