Clara Maude Penstone

Clara Maude Penstone, class of 1902, was from Pittsfield in Pike County, Illinois. She graduated from the Uiversity of Chicago in 1910. She taught in El Paso (1902-03), Mt. Sterling (1903-04), Griggsville (1904-078) and Fulton (1907-09) in Illinois. She returned to the Normal University as the 8th grade critic teacher (1910-11). She was a high school training teacher at I.S.N.U. (1911-1915) and taught grammar at I.S.N.U. from 1915 to 1919. She entered the service in December 1918 and was a canteen worker at a rest camp in Brest, France. After the war she taught at Senn High School in Chicago.
